Gemma Merino, Architect

Architect Gemma Merino studied at the University of Architecture in Barcelona (ETSAV), and has experience from working on a variety of architectural and urban design projects in UK, Spain, Ireland and Israel.

Gemma worked on several competition winning projects including a secondary school (IES Cubelles Secondary School), health centre (CAP Sabadell Centre) and residential schemes. Gemma has conducted planning research at the University of Architecture and worked in a local authority planning department in Barcelona.

Gemma joined Mark Fairhurst Architects in 2007 and has worked on a wide range of new build, change of use, domestic and historic listed building projects including: 24 residential units with retail space in Ruislip Manor; an extension to an existing grade II listed terrace in Bathurst Street, Bayswater; conversion and extension to residential apartments of existing historic warehouses in Duck Lane, Soho; domestic extensions and refurbishments in Heath Hurst Road, Hampstead; new build mews houses in Addiscombe Road, Croydon;  the extension and refurbishment of a historic terrace house in Pelham Street, Kensington and Chelsea and  the extension to an existing office building in Union Street, London Bridge.
