Sustainable Infill Housing in Sydenham
We’re excited to share our latest project of infill housing in Sydenham, a sustainable and carefully designed development that replaces four derelict garages with two high quality, two-bedroom homes.

Unlocking Potential in a Tucked-Away Corner of SE26
The site is located to the rear of a Victorian terrace on Queensthorpe Road, bordering the Sydenham Thorpes Conservation Area. The existing garages are disused and in poor condition. This infill housing in Sydenham project transforms the area by providing much-needed new homes while enhancing the local environment.
Designed for Context, Comfort, and Character
The scheme has been shaped through close consultation with Lewisham’s planning officer and in alignment with the Lewisham’s Local Plan and Small Sites Guidance. It features modest massing and refined architectural detailing that responds to the surrounding character. Each new home offers dual-aspect living spaces, ample natural light, private gardens, and a high level of privacy.

Sustainable and Low-Carbon Living
The development adopts a fabric-first approach to energy efficiency. These infill housing in Sydenham homes incorporate air source heat pumps and mechanical ventilation with heat recovery (MVHR) to reduce carbon emissions. Materials have been carefully selected to deliver a contemporary and durable finish that complements the neighbouring architecture.

Protecting Nature and Enhancing Biodiversity
Neighbouring trees have been carefully protected throughout the design and construction planning. The project also integrates sustainable drainage systems, green roofs, and new planting to enhance biodiversity and long-term environmental performance.
A Model for Responsible Infill Development
We believe well-designed small-scale schemes like this can play an important role in addressing London’s housing shortage—especially when delivered with context, care, and quality. This infill housing in Sydenham proposal is a meaningful example of how sensitive architecture can unlock the potential of overlooked urban spaces.
Planning has been submitted to Lewisham Council, and we look forward to taking the next step in bringing this sustainable addition to Sydenham to life.
